well, the unimaginable has finally happened. on september 22nd, i will officially be an employee of jboss, inc. the excitement has been over ruling the better part of this week. i got the offer letter on tuesday, and delayed a day until i get find out some more details from ivelin about the position. i told steven wednesday morning first thing that i was leaving usfi.. he took it well. it’s tragic that i have to leave such a good company, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to get the thing that you truely want. yesterday i wrote up a short but sweet resignation letter to usfi. today i am supposed to tell faisal officially the news.. i hope he can understand where i’m coming from.. this opportunity is the best thing that’s ever happened to my career.
they are making me the lead developer for all things JBoss/Eclipse related. i’m so excited that i can barely maintain my sanity. i get to work for an open source company, from home, making great money, travelling, training, consulting, and implementing some of the hottest technologies for two of the highest profile java projects in the community. i expect my pitiful blog traffic will increase accordingly ;). in fact, bill burke has mentioned me in a few brief sentences over at jboss blogs! i’m totally star struck.
for the office space impaired, today’s title is a reference to a funny line from that movie.
