it was a very busy weekend for yours truly. on saturday, i drove over to my mom’s place to drive a bunch of 13 year old kiddies (yay!) to the texas rangers game and back. the game wasn’t quite as boring as i expected.. but the seats were unbelievably cramped together and it was pretty humid up in the nosebleed section. nevertheless, the kids had a really good time and i got to meet shannon’s boyfriend taylor who seemed to have his head screwed on right.. my sister has so much more sense at her age than I did.. oy. what was i thinking?

i spent the first few hours of my day sunday working on a little personal project i have trying to connect my tivo to my nomad jukebox. once it works in any kind of fashion i’ll probably finish up the software section and put it up for people to download. the rest of the day sunday was spent with paige.. we usually make a habit of taking at least one of the days of the weekend to spend with each other. we ate an awesome lunch at red robin, then went and saw hero, which was a mighty awesome movie i must say. i really look forward to my time with paige.. it’s the best part of my week.. i love her so much!

yesterday i tried catching up with faisal so i could have a man-to-man talk with him about why i was leaving usfi.. and where i was going. i finally caught up to him today as i was leaving (around 7pm) and got in a good word. luckily faisal understands what’s going on.. and wants to wish me the best of luck in my endeavors. phew. two weeks from tomorrow (sept 15.) is my final day at usfi. after that i’m taking a week off to hopefully spend some time in nashville on a week long vacation, then it’s back into gear working for jboss. can life get any better? i submit that it cannot!
