you’d think i’d be asleep by now. it 12:14 am, and i’m in minneapolis, restless as ever because i’m on a training assignment. it never fails that when i travel to consult or train, i end up not being able to put my self to sleep until the wee hours of the morning. not that my sleeping habits are any better at home, mind you. but you’d think i’d be able to excersize a little self control when it came to actually working with our customers on a daily basis. maybe it’s the fact that i’m approximately 993 miles away from home. at any rate, since i’m up and i’ve got things to blog about, i figured i’d type out a nice entry.
paige and marshall’s 2nd annual marriage celebration
my, my how the time flies. we celebrated in style by going to our local simply fondue, ordering a few bottles of wine, and acting like stupid kids, in general. i highly recommend that everyone spends their anniversaries like this. they don’t come any more exciting (or stupid — marshall + too much wine = dangerous). at any rate, this has been the best 2 years of prison err.. bliss of my life.
paige, no! please don’t kill me! no, i’m serious. put the axe down! that’s my leg!!! AHHHH!!!
google gets personal
apparently google has launched a new service that allows you to make a personalized google front page. i highly recommend you check this out. it’s not as customizable as say, yahoo’s main page, but it’s got a nice click-n-drag gui that makes my mouth water. and since we all know that google is one of the most innovative companies around, i can only imagine this will get phenomenally better over time. i highly anticipate arbitrary rss feed imports, but then i’m a geek
juggling update
i bought 4 radical fish piranha 52 juggling clubs recently. they look really weird.. yet cool. check this out:
anyway, the plan is to be able to juggle 4 clubs by my birthday, but we’ll see just how realistic of a goal that is. since i got them, i’ve started doing 3 club-double spin juggling and 2 club-one hand-double spin juggling. i’m still a novice at both of these tough patterns, but i’ve already been able to succesfully “juggle” both. i’ve put a new personal records table on my juggling page so anyone can keep up with my progress in juggling.
party at my place, be there
once i get back from minnesota, paige and i are going to start trying to figure out when we’re going to throw our “house warming” party. i’ve been building it up for a while now and most of my friends and family are now bugging me about a date. i suppose i shouldnt’ve said anything until it was concrete. oh well. it’s going to be a blast, you can bet your pants on it. actually, if you bet your pants on it… i hope you lose. just for irony’s sake.
marshall culpepper, columnist extraordinaire
i’ve submitted my proposal to dr dobbs journal for an article over jbosside and specifically our persistence tools and ejb3 tooling. they look to be pretty excited to be getting some ejb3/jboss coverage, so hopefully soon you will be seeing my name in a magazine rack near you ;).
