6 months since my last post — things are looking pretty desolate over here on the old blog. I honestly don’t even have any valid excuses this time, life has been really exciting and there are a TON of new things to talk about. So I’ll cut to the chase:
I’ve moved on to a new opportunity at the Atlanta Silicon Valley-based open source startup: Appcelerator. After talking them into needing a tools strategy, Jeff Haynie and Nolan Wright saw fit to bring me on board and implement said strategy. Appcelerator is a brilliant mashup of RIA and SOA that brings simplicity and intuitive design back to the web application space. I’ve already been dipping in by writing a grammar for their EL, and coding up some proof of concepts using JBossTools excellent VPE and Archiving tools. I’ve also been making regular appearances in the IRC channel #appcelerator on Freenode, as well as posting frequently on the Appcelerator Dev Network. Expect to see me posting on the company blog Appcelerant very soon.
In other non-technical news, I’ve landed not only a new job but a new house and a new car
. My last post about Shady Shores was written as we had just decided to move forward with building a house. Well, it’s over a year later.. but we are finally here! The hold-up in getting here actually had more to do with getting out of our townhouse, than waiting for construction to finish (which happened in approx June timeframe). After a year of failing to get our townhouse sold (economy? who knows), we were fortunate enough to find a tenant that we could rent to. Looks like you can add Landlord to my list of occupations.. my prospects are growing! As for the new car, I finally decided on a Cadi CTS with 3.6L Direct Injection V6. This car is mega-sweet, and you can see pics of it, along with the new house over on my flickr page

We’re excited to have you on board! Great hanging out last week – we’ll have to do that more often.
